A freshly established non-profit organisation for the visual arts, Canal Projects’ purpose is to help creative local, national, and international artists at critical junctures in their careers. This two-story modern art gallery will foster ongoing partnerships with artists who will focus on newly commissioned and site-specific works of art and contains a library for special projects. A rotating cast of artists and collectives will organise performances, readings, screenings, and a library in addition to exhibitions at Canal Projects. Through the creation, presentation, investigation, and interpretation of this work, we hope to encourage challenging artistic practises that are reflective of the present. The YS Kim Foundation, which generously supports Canal Projects and develops artistic projects to benefit marginalised and developing artists and their communities, offers general support grants. The YS Kim Foundation envisions a society where culture, connections, and opportunities promote personal development and collective well-being. Its goal is to uplift, encourage, and open up new opportunities for organisations, communities, young people, artists, and kids to prosper. This is accomplished through the introduction of new programmes, the offering of grants and scholarships to organisations and students, among other things.
